Piccadilly – Week Night Respite

October 22, 2010

Although it’s Friday, I would like to tell you about a place to grab a solid middle of the week dinner.  Not that the Piccadilly isn’t open on the weekends, but their comforting American fare and neighborhoody feel just seem to especially lend it to being a perfect Wednesday night pick-me-up spot.

Simple salads, chicken pot pie covered with an overflowing pillow of flaky crust, superior restaurant fried chicken (unabashedly deep-fried with no false claims of pan frying), meat loaf, spaghetti and meatballs — it’s all there.  Great family place tucked away on a Maplewood backstreet.  After several years of being open post a remodel, it is now definitely a going concern and, upon arrival, we snagged the last unreserved table.   So, note, if you sense yourself getting the comfort food craving during the day, you might as well call ahead and ensure your quick and easy access to home-cooking outside of home.
