It’s Raining, It’s Pouring — Go to Dressel’s

July 30, 2010

What a yucky day out.  And were I not at work today, I feel like it would be a perfect afternoon to go to Dressel’s and settle into a dark booth with a book, a pint, and a Ploughman’s banger and cheese plate (complete with pickled vegetables, chutney, and chunky bread).  Oh my, my.  Bliss indeed.  Best enjoyed with torrential downpour or steady falling snow, or really any meteorological occurrence that involves a dark and threatening sky.   The place is just dang cozy.

Dressel’s is basically next door to the more boisterous (at least in the evenings) Llywelyn’s.  Not that Dressel’s is sleepy.  The menu has a lot more to offer than a ploughman’s plate, which keeps the dining room steadily busy throughout the day – I have been very pleased with their Reuben and any of their stock-pot specials.  Additionally, Dressel’s boasts fantastic second floor bar and additional rooms for private parties.  It’s Raining, it’s pouring, go to Dressel’s.
